Good afternoon Redmond Assembly of God family and friends!

Pastor Duane here and I hope you are off to a good start your Fourth of July weekend!

I want to address with you today an update on the COVID 19 pandemic we have all been dealing with for the past several months.

As you all know Deschutes county was moved into the phase two model just a few weeks ago and with that we were able to start meeting again as a church family.

We have just completed three weeks of being together in person and I want to thank all of you for your understanding and patience as we have tried to navigate through a difficult time.

We have practiced social distancing, using our hand sanitizers and face coverings which have been at this point recommend but not required.

Well as of July first this week our Oregon Governor has mandated a state wide requirement that face covers must be used at all times while inside buildings which includes us a church.

So starting this Sunday July 5th all of our church family at Redmond Assembly of God will be required to wear face coverings while attending either our 9:00 or 10:30 services.

I know that we all have very strong opinions over the issue of wearing face coverings but as your pastor may I ask each of us to set aside our opinions for the sake of of honoring our church family with humility, love, caring, and kindness.

While we certainly know that people could be infected without physical signs, my heart for you as family is to do our best to make all of our safety our highest priority.

If wearing a facial cover can help prevent our most vulnerable or anyone else from being at risk I really believe this is not to much to ask.

Most of you know I’m one of those at risk people and have been receiving cancer treatment through a clinical trial for the past three years. I’m happy to report that I’m doing well on this particular medication in which I’m extremely grateful to the Lord and the oncologists working in my behalf.

I know I have throughly enjoyed being back together in person after 14 weeks of not meeting and I don’t want to see us moving backwards but continuing to move forward in the days and months ahead.

So with that being said, If you are not comfortable with our current requirements that we as a church must and will follow I certainly understand.

I want to encourage to follow our online presence at or our church app.

Also, with these current requirements our worship team will not be live this Sunday which we were all excited about but will continue to record music for our two Sunday morning services our website and app.

Let me say again how much I appreciate your prayers your patience and your understanding as we face these challenging times. Together we will walk through this with the Lords help and the encouragement of each other.

I love you and I’m praying daily for you!
